Howard County General Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission, which means that it has been evaluated and approved for meeting national standards for quality health care in America. It also has received a Level III designation from the Maryland Health Care Commission and was named one of the Top 100 Hospitals in America by Truven Health Analytics.

Howard County General Hospital offers a full range of acute medical services including emergency care, ambulatory surgery, and imaging, rehabilitation programs (physical therapy), specialized behavioral health programs (mental health), transplant services (heart/lung), outpatient surgery center, diagnostic imaging department that includes an MRI unit among many others such as X-ray department or radiology technician to name a few.
